Towers High School employee, band volunteer arrested after investigation into misconduct

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A high school band volunteer and a school employee have both been arrested and charged after an investigation.

According to the DeKalb County School District, the district's police department was made aware of allegations involving "inappropriate contact" between a student and a volunteer of the Towers High School band program. The specifics of the allegations were not immediately clear.

The district said the individual was "not approved" to be a volunteer by the district.

The band volunteer has since been arrested and charged, according to the district. A school employee, who was not identified by the district, has also been arrested and charged, though it's also unclear what their involvement in the matter is, at this point.
