ATLANTA — Animal Planet has green-lighted a new show that gives a behind-the-scenes look at Atlanta’s downtown aquarium, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The show is tentatively called “The Aquarium” and is slated to premiere later this year, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle. It will document the lives of the animals living inside the largest aquarium on the Western Hemisphere and profile the people who take care of them. The show will also follow the day-to-day activities of the non-profit’s biologists and researchers and dive in to the mechanics of the aquarium, which includes 70 miles of piping and is monitored 24-hours per day.
This won't be Georgia Aquariums first time in the limelight. "Ocean Mysteries with Jeff Corwin from Georgia Aquarium" aired Saturday mornings on ABC affiliates from 2011-16, with the show offering a message of conservation and ocean research.
