ATLANTA — A megastar from Atlanta made a joyous surprise announcement over the weekend: The birth of a baby boy.
Halle Bailey, star of last year's "The Little Mermaid," welcomed her son Halo with her boyfriend, rapper DDG, in an Instagram post.
"even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son.. welcome to the world my halo 🥰👼🏽 ✨the world is desperate to know you 😉🤣♥️" Bailey wrote in her post.
She had not disclosed a pregnancy previously, though fans had speculated in recent weeks a baby might be on the way as she had increasingly made public appearances with loose-fitting clothes.
The birth also gave new meaning to her song last year "Angel," which was just nominated for a Grammy Award for "Best R&B song" - with the chorus of the song mentioning "Angel, Angel, Angel, Heaven wears your halo."
