ATLANTA — As 2023 comes to a close, 11Alive wants to remind its readers and viewers of all the stories that kept us on our toes in the entertainment land.
Here's a list of the most popular entertainment stories covered this year.
Just hours after posting his first photo on social media since being hospitalized, Jamie Foxx followed up with a video on Sunday thanking everyone for their kind words and dispelling some rumors.
Foxx was hospitalized for an undisclosed medical situation on April 11 and has remained out of the spotlight. On May 3, his official Instagram post said, "Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed."
The post's title starts by saying, 'Thank u a billion to everybody...' Foxx spoke in the video about at one point said he didn't know if he was going to "make it through." He said he is grateful for his family protecting his privacy and did want to clear the air: he's not blind or paralyzed.
Viral food critic Keith Lee traveled to Atlanta to try some of the city's most coveted food spots -- as well as some smaller businesses that could benefit from exposure on his platform.
Typically, Lee's review consists of him anonymously ordering food, eating the food outside of the restaurant to maintain anonymity, giving an authentic review as he eats, and rating the restaurant on a scale of 10.
His critiques sparked a debate about Atlanta's restaurant culture in the comments of his review.
A fight at a Buckhead bar Friday night ended with reality show stars from "Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta" in handcuffs, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
Law enforcement officials said the fight happened at the Lucca Lounge on Pharr Road in Buckhead around 11:40 p.m. on Friday. APD said that four people had gotten into a fight with the security guards, and when an officer tried to de-escalate, they became physically aggressive with him.
With help from other security guards, the officer was able to get all four people to leave the bar. APD said the fight started because the guard had previously asked them to go, and they refused.
An event advertised as "the greatest automotive experience" rolled into metro Atlanta Saturday as rapper Rick Ross held his second annual car show at his Fayetteville home.
Last year's event turned out to be a traffic nightmare, with people stuck on roads in the area for hours, but this year, it was a much different story.
Last year, only six officers worked at the event. This year, more than 100 officers from multiple counties were out in full force. Thousands of people pulled into Ross' home known as the "Promise Land" with cars as far as the eye could see.
