Rapper Young Thug charged with 8 felonies for 2017 arrest in DeKalb County

The rapper has a record of arrests in metro Atlanta and on the West Coast ranging from weapon possession, violence and attempted drug dealing.

DeKALB COUNTY, Ga. -- Rapper Young Thug has officially been charged with eight felony crimes in connection with a DeKalb County arrest roughly a year before. He was named along with co-defendants Cedric Lamont Jones and Sergio Giavanni Kitchens.

Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, was charged with possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of hydrocone with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of amphetamine, possession of Alprazolam, possession of codeine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and an additional count of possession of codeine apart from his co-defendants.

The charges all stem from a 2017 arrest at DeKalb-Peachtree Airport where he was allegedly found with the various drugs. Kitchens only faced misdemeanor charges for window tint violation and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. Jones faced seven of eight felony charges.

The arrest at the time was just the latest for the rapper who had also been arrested the previous December at Lenox Square in Buckhead on charges of driving a stolen vehicle and failure to appear for a previous court hearing.

More recently, Williams was arrested in Los Angeles after police found a gun in his car as he celebrated his own birthday.
