ATLANTA — Burt Reynolds' 1977 comedy "Smokey and the Bandit" is returning to the big screen at AMC Theaters across Georgia for a nine-day tribute to the late actor, who died on Thursday at age 82.
The movie will play at 240 locations nationwide -- including 20 in Georgia, according to AMC. The movie will run from Sept. 12 to Sept. 20, for $5 per ticket.
In the film, Reynolds starred as his iconic character Bo "Bandit" Darville, a bootlegger hauling a load from Texas to Atlanta with his partner, Cledus Snow, played by Jerry Reed.
The film also stars Sally Field as a runaway bride picked up by Reynolds.
"Smokey and the Bandit" will screen at the following AMC locations across Georgia:
