NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities in Newton County are on the lookout for a suspect who allegedly ran down a man with a pickup truck after a fight on July 4.
Sheriff's office investigators believe that sometime between 5 and 9 p.m. that day, Joshua Edward Anderson got in an argument with the victim, Kevin Lamarius Marshall. At some point, the victim walked away from the home on North Lake Drive. That's when, based on what investigators learned from witnesses, Anderson hit the victim while driving a silver 2001 extended-cab Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.
He left before deputies arrived but was later identified due to the fight. Investigators are now looking for Anderson and the truck which has grill damage and a missing bumper. It has a Georgia license plate reading DGF633.
Anderson, who is about 6 feet 1 inch tall and 250 pounds, is described as armed and dangerous. The report reveals charges of homicide by vehicle, serious injury by vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident in what is described as the willful killing of another with a weapon.
However, the department is in the process of adding a malice murder charge due to the nature of the accident since investigators believe Anderson intentionally hit Marshall.
