Gas station selling fuel for .76 today

If you're gonna get this steal, you've got to act quickly.

ACWORTH, Ga. -- Gas is for sale for 76 cents at a new gas station.

A 76 gas station is celebrating their grand opening by selling gasoline for .76 per gallon.

"As part of the fun, the first 100 attendees at the noon hour will be able to fill up their tanks with regular unleaded gas at the discounted price of $0.76 per gallon," according to the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce.

By 11:30, about a dozen cars had already lined at the business waiting for the deal to begin.

California based Union Oil first introduced 76 gasoline in 1932 and has three other locations in metro Atlanta.

Right now the average in metro Atlanta is $2.73 which is a little below the national average of $2.85, according to AAA.

Energy.gov keeps track of gas prices through the years and a gallon of gas has not been this low since 1978 when the average was .63.

The gas station is located at 6080 Hwy 92 at Wade Green Rd.

“We are thrilled for the all-time classic 76® Brand’s arrival in Acworth. With this new 76® station opening, we will be able to offer local residents another great fuel option in their neighborhoods,” said Gita Gidwani, 76® Brand manager of marketing.
