SPALDING COUNTY, Ga. — A double stabbing in Spalding County is now under investigation by the GBI.
Spalding County Sheriff's deputies responded to an assault at a home on High Falls Road Monday morning. One man, 33-year-old Syntel Brown, was found with multiple stab wounds and cuts in the front yard. A neighbor, along with deputies rendered aid until EMS arrived and took Brown to Atlanta Medical Center.
A second victim was found a short distance from the home also suffering from multiple stab wounds and cuts. That victim was taken to Spalding Regional Hospital.
The GBI was requested to investigate the incident by the Sheriff's Office. There's been no word on a suspect or a possible motive.
"After being briefed by my investigators as to the details of the incident and those involved, I made the determination to contact the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and ask for their assistance," said Spalding County Sheriff Darrell Dix. "At this point, the investigation has been turned over to them."
According to information on the Spalding County Board of Education website, Brown is a member of the district's school board. 11Alive reached out to officials for a statement, but they have not responded, yet.
