COMMERCE, Ga. -- A note posted to the wall of a Commerce High School bathroom lists the names of seven minority students who need to be eliminated. It read "N*****s to eliminate" and was brought to the attention of school officials Wednesday afternoon.
The bathroom was cordoned off but not before a student took a picture and sent a Snap of the list.
According to school officials, the parents of the students listed were notified and the principal and police chief met with the students Thursday morning. Student told them they were not aware of any threats and did not feel threatened.
Now, authorities are offering students a reward for the name of the person who wrote the threat. Commerce Police Department is offering a reward of $500.00 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the individual(s) involved.
The Commerce Police Department is investigating and said in a statement, "The Commerce Police Department and the Commerce City School System are working to identify and prosecute the individual(s) involved in this incident. The Commerce Police Department has added additional personnel to the high school to ensure the safety of students and teachers."
The extra police will be at the school for the next two weeks until Christmas break.
