ATLANTA — After a week of uncertainty, it appears the "Payment Status Not Available" conundrum is being cleared up for some people.
Thousands hoping to check on their stimulus payments were instead met with that message when the IRS payment tracker site went live last week as payments began being made to Americans.
It was especially frustrating for those who were hoping to input their bank information, because the error message prevented them from even getting that far.
Late last night, though, the site showed an update that outages were to be planned each night from Thursday-Saturday from 10 p.m.-1 a.m.

And, early Friday morning, there have been scattered reports from people who once saw the "Payment Status Not Available" message, saying they can now access the tracker tool.
One person posted that after finally getting through, their bank account info was already in the system.
We've reached out to the Treasury Department to see if we can get any specifics on the maintenance being done and who can expect to have their "Payment Status Not Available" issue cleared up.
It's still not clear for how many people the issue has been fixed or will be resolved over the next few days, or what their exact situations were that led them to seeing the message in the first place - but it appears there's finally signs of life out there for those of you who have been stuck in the dark on this.
