ATLANTA — The team over at of Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks has been hard at work helping medical professionals during the coronavirus pandemic.
It started on March 29, when the owner Derrick Hayes, went to social media announcing the restaurant was giving away free chicken cheesesteak egg rolls for two hours.
The staff gave out two meals per vehicle. The only rule was that you could not get out of your car or break social distancing rules.
Customers drove in with a line wrapped around the downtown Atlanta city street near the store’s location at 57 Forsyth Street.
Hayes then started to see how he could help hospitals in the area.
Videos posted on Big Dave’s Cheesteaks' Instagram page shows crew members delivering medical supplies like gloves and masks to area hospitals including, Piedmont Urgent Care - McDonough, Hughes Spalding Children’s Hospital, Grady Hospital, Atlanta Medical Center, and Emory University Hospital.
