GEORGIA, USA — Handsome Brook Farms announced Wednesday that it is recalling 10,800 egg units sold at Costcos in several states, including Georgia.

According to the Food and Drug Administration's post, the company said the eggs could be contaminated with salmonella.

The FDA has not reported any illnesses yet.

The eggs were sold under the Kirkland Signature brand name, normally sold at Costco, starting on Friday, November 22.

The Kirkland Signature Organic Pasture Raised 24-Count Eggs were distributed to 25 Costco stores in Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

It's unclear exactly which Costco locations the eggs were sold at.

"The recall was initiated after the company determined that eggs not intended for retail distribution were instead packaged and distributed in retail packaging," the company said in its announcement. Handsome Brook Farms are putting measures in place to ensure it does not happen again.

How do you tell you have a contaminated batch?

The FDA's post said that the contaminated Organic Pasture Raised 24-count eggs will have the UPC 9661910680 label on them. They will also be packaged in plastic egg cartons labeled with the Kirkland Signature brand on top.

It only applies to units with the Julian Code 327 and used by the date of "Jan. 6, 2025."

If customers do not want a refund, they should throw the products away.

The company said those with additional questions should contact them by calling at 646-733-4532, ext. 1, Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM EST or emailing any time at recall@hbfeggs.com.
