CARTERSVILLE, Ga. — Soon, families will be able to get help for infants born early in metro Atlanta with the opening of a new Level II NICU at Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center.
According to the nonprofit March of Dimes, about one in eight babies are born early in Bartow County.
This new NICU will keep families stay close to home while their babies get care.
Doctors will be available around the clock to help babies born at 32 weeks or later.
If more serious care is needed, they can be taken to a higher-level NICU nearby.
