Your blood type may say more about you than you realize. Recent studies suggest your blood type could be a window to your future, if you know it.
The type of sugar that's attached to your red blood cells determines your blood type -- unless there's no sugar at all. That means your blood type is O.
One study followed 77,000 people for 20 years and found those with type AB blood were more likely to suffer from heart disease.
Another study suggests you're almost twice as likely to have memory problems if you have that blood type.
If you're Type O, you might be at a higher risk of ulcers than those with other blood types.
Type B blood may mean you're at a higher risk of throat cancer.
Type AB blood could mean you're at a higher risk of memory loss and memory loss.
According to the studies, if your blood type is A, you're more likely to fall victim to stress.
Dr. Erin Meyer, a pathologist at Emory, says the studies are a useful tool she wants to know more about the relationship between blood type and disease.
"I don't feel it's time to start getting alarmed yet, it's interesting and very suggestive, but we still need some more work," Meyer said.
