JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — Police in northern Fulton County are alerting the public to a bear spotted in the area on Thursday.

The cub was seen in the area of Medlock Bridge Road and Bobby Jones Drive. A photo also shows the baby bear crossing a nearby golf course.

Their advice to the public is to leave the cub alone. They also provided a few more tips to prevent this bear - or any other - from wandering into your yard.

In general, the tips revolve around not leaving food out where a bear may find it by securing food, garbage and recycling, removing bird feeders, never leaving pet food outdoors and cleaning and storing grills.

They also add that people should definitely not intentionally feed bears - something that could make them lose their fear of humans and provide a link for more tips from Bearwise.org.
