Orangeburg, SC (WLTX) - Orangeburg County deputies say their investigation into the murders of four people in Holly Hill have led them to make arrests in an unrelated drug case.
The suspects taken into custody are 36-year-old Christopher Wright and 35-year-old Robert Bailey. Wright is charged with two counts of trafficking methamphetamine, while Bailey is charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession of cocaine, and an outstanding traffic violation.
Orangeburg Sheriff Leroy Ravenell stressed that the charges are unrelated to the actual murder investigation. However, as they were interviewing the men as part of their probe into the killings, they developed information to make these arrests.
Wright is the father of three of the victims: Tamara Perry, 14; Shamekia Sanders, 17, and the unidentified 8-year-old boy. Perry and Sanders were both killed, while the boy is still alive at the hospital in critical condition.
Police have not yet determined what the relationship is between those victims and the other two who were killed, 28-year-old Krystal Hutto and 50-year-old Jerome Butler.
Police say there are still no suspects arrested in the killings. Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC, or e-mail a tip in to www.midlandscrimestoppers.com.
