Police: Driver involved in 5-car crash that left one dead on I-285 in Sandy Springs leaves scene

One person died and two others were taken to local hospitals to be treated for their injuries.

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — Authorities are searching for the driver of a vehicle involved in a deadly five-car crash on I-285 east at Roswell Road early Saturday morning, Sandy Springs Police said.

One person died and two others were taken to local hospitals to be treated for their injuries -- one of the people injured was described to be in stable condition, according to police. The crash happened in Sandy Springs around 2 a.m.

The driver of one of the five vehicles involved left the scene of the crash, police said. Officers said they were unable to identify the suspect, but they are working hard to figure out who it was.
