UNION CITY, Ga., -- A 15-year-old girl is dead following a shooting Sunday night.
Amira Cameron was discovered by Union City Police, who were responding to a call of a person shot at the Oakley Shoals Apartment Complex. She was pronounced dead at the scene due to a gunshot wound.
"She was my angel," Horace Cameron, Amira's father said to 11Alive's Duffie Dixon. "I'm just really grieving right now. I don't know understand how this happened...she was so young."
Police said Cameron was with a group of friends in front of the apartment complex when someone arrived and shots were fired. Detectives have not said whether Amira was a target or an innocent bystander.
Investigators returned to the scene on Monday to collect evidence.
