LITHONIA, Ga. — Two women are recovering after being rescued from a fire at a townhome complex in Lithonia on Labor Day.
It happened on Wellington Chase Court on Monday afternoon, fire officials said.
DeKalb Fire said they found a woman still inside her townhome, but she was combative and did not want to leave. Crews eventually were able to rescue the woman and treat her for minor smoke inhalation.
While clearing out the building, crews also found a bedridden woman in a different unit and safely rescued her from the home.
It's unknown how many people were displaced by the fire at this time.
