FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ga. — A 27-year-old is dead, and his brother is in custody after a crash involving jet skis on Friday night, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
It happened on Aug. 3 on Lake Hartwell Poplar Springs boat ramp. Game wardens said that 27-year-old Phillip Samuel was hit by his 20-year-old brother's jet ski and fell into the water.
Samuel was pulled from the water by a boat that came by and was given CPR by people on board. A short time later, medical officials said he'd died.
The 20-year-old, Samuel's brother, was arrested for boating under the influence and booked into the Franklin County Detention Center.
DNR said the case is still under investigation.
