GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A crash in Peachtree Corners on Sunday left three dead and several others injured, police said.
According to the Gwinnett County Police Department, officers responded to a call at Peachtree Corners Circle and Elmside Village Lane just before 4 p.m. The Gwinnett Fire Department determined that three people died.
An updated news release from the department on Monday gave more insight into the crash. The release stated that a dark blue BMW driver was driving on Elmside Village Lane, trying to make a left onto Peachtree Corners Circle northbound. Police said a 30-year-old Chevrolet Camaro driver was driving south on Peachtree Corners Circle in the right lane.
The BMW driver then entered the intersection where the Camaro and the BMW crashed.
Authorities said the driver and passenger of the BMW died. Police identified the driver as Armas Harding, 46, and the passenger as Laura Rueda, 46.
The Camaro driver and the front seat passenger were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. There were also two children in the back seat of the Camaro, and both were taken to a hospital with serious injuries as well. A 5-year-old named Aura Camarono later died at the hospital while the other child, who is 6 years old, is still receiving treatment, police said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
