ACWORTH, Ga. -- Police in Cobb County are working to get to the bottom of an Acworth murder that happened midmorning, Saturday.
The incident happened in the 3100 block of Blowing Wind Court around 9 a.m. police said.
According to investigators, 911 operators dispatched officers to a residence in reference to a stabbing.
Unfortunately, when they arrived, they located the body of a female in the yard.
The suspect was also located near the scene and detained.
The victim, identified as 17-year old Abbey Hebert of Acworth, Ga., was pronounced deceased on scene from injuries sustained in this incident.
The suspect, 18-year old Olivia Smith of Canton, Georgia, was arrested near the scene of the incident.
Smith is being held at Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond and is charged with felony murder.
