ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- Alpharetta Elementary School was placed on lockdown Tuesday morning after receiving a threatening phone call.

Someone called the school at 9:39 a.m. and threatened harm, according to Alpharetta Department of Public Safety spokesman George Gordon.

Police arrived at the school and searched the building. No threat was found, but a protective sweep was issued as a precaution.

Fulton County Schools spokeswoman Samantha Evans said about 30 students were in the building, participating in a summer school session.

Investigators said they will search for the individual behind the threats and press charges.
