Investigation underway in apparent murder-suicide at Dunwoody apartments, police say

DUNWOODY, Ga. — Police are now investigating an apparent murder-suicide after they found a woman shot to death at a Dunwoody apartment complex early Wednesday morning.

It all started when police were called to investigate a missing persons report at an apartment complex located on Charleston Place. The location is in the area of the Dunwoody Gables apartments. 

Dunwoody Police said that they received a call from the mother of the victim who had not heard from her daughter and asked officers to investigate. When officer conducted the welfare check, they found a 24-year-old shot to death. 

After finding the woman's body, police believed they found a potential suspect and their vehicle. A Flock system spotted the suspect's vehicle in a Stone Mountain park on Thursday around 6:30 a.m.

When police responded to the location of the vehicle, they found the suspect who reportedly died by suicide. 

No other details were released about the alleged suspect or the victim's identity.
