ATLANTA — Police say they've made multiple arrests in a Sunday robbery off the westside BeltLine trail.
It was around 8 p.m. Easter Sunday when a woman told police she had been robbed by three young children, who appeared to be between the ages of 8 and 10 years old.
The woman said she had been on the trail when the trio approached her and asked to use her phone. She told them no, but she told police the group then demanded the device, so she threw it down on the ground.
She told police that one of the boys then flashed a gun hidden in his waistband and demanded her AirPods, which she also tossed to them.
After getting the phone and wireless headphones, the woman said the three ran off toward Lawton Street. Police say the woman was not hurt.
On Monday, police confirmed they made arrests in connection to the case, but did release specifics, including the ages of the suspects or the charges they may face.
11Alive went to the trail Monday, the day after the robbery, and saw two officers walking the area. When contacted by us, Atlanta Police said the police path force has begun "focusing some of their efforts on the Westside trail as investigators work to locate and identify the suspects involved in this incident."
