Assistant Bibb County Manager, Charles Coney, announced that he is leaving Bibb County to become the Hampton City Manager.
Coney has served as the assistant county manager since consolidation and has lead the county’s youth commission program for several years.
Commissioner Joe Allen spoke up at Tuesday’s commission meeting thanking Coney for all of the work he has done for the county.
Coney responded thanking several people including former Commission Chairman, Sam Hart.
“Who gave me an opportunity to bring all I have developed across my career and the city of Fitzgerald to Macon-Bibb County. And thank you to this consolidated government and commission who has supported my work over the past five years here, so thank you,” says Coney.
Mayor Robert Reichert says Coney’s last day will be April 13th.
