ATLANTA — A 16-year-old was shot early Friday morning in the Westside neighborhood of Collier Heights and is in critical condition, the Atlanta Police Department said.
APD said it happened at a location on Oldknow Drive. The department said officers responded to the location around 2 a.m. and found the 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound and "not alert, conscious or breathing."
APD said he was "transported to the hospital in critical condition." There was no update on the boy's condition when the department posted its update Friday afternoon.
"Detectives with the Homicide Unit responded to the scene to investigate the circumstances of the incident. The investigation continues," a police statement said.
