Police take woman into custody on tarmac for 'disorderly conduct' at Atlanta airport

The woman, police said, was informed that her boarding pass was denied because of her behavior.

ATLANTA — A traveler at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport was taken into custody for "disorderly conduct" Monday morning, police said. Video shows a portion of the ordeal unfold as the customer is seen running from police on the tarmac.

According to APD, officers assigned to the Atlanta Police Airport Section responded to gate E1 around 11:55 a.m. The woman, police said, was informed that her boarding pass was denied because of her behavior.

Police said they started escorting her from the gate to the terminal, but she refused to get into the officer's vehicle. That's when she took off running.

A video shared on social media shows a woman running on the tarmac, and a police officer eventually caught up to her, pushed her to the ground and took her into custody.

APD said officers took the woman to the airport precinct, where EMS was requested to evaluate her. She was cleared and taken to the Clayton County Jail on disorderly conduct and obstruction of law enforcement charges.
