Atlanta Police introduces new Command Vehicle

ATLANTA (WXIA) – The Atlanta Police Department unveiled its new Mobile Command Vehicle at a press briefing Monday afternoon.

The 48-foot long vehicle includes high-speed internet capabilities, high definition televisions, multi-band radios, the state’s only microwave helicopter tracking system, a full weather station, multiple state-of-the-art computer systems, a full conference room with two-way radios, phones and smart board and other innovations.

APD officials say they will be dispatching the MCV for large-scale events including the AJC Peachtree Road Race, the Veterans’ Day Parade, the Childrens’ Christmas Parade, the Chick-fil-A Parade, the annual Peach Drop and other significant city events.
