The festival will start on October 12 and 13 at Piedmont Park.

ATLANTA — The Atlanta Pride Festival will officially begin honoring members of the LGBTQ+ community this weekend.

This year's theme is "United with Pride," which aims to reinforce the idea of standing together. The theme was also paired with a new logo, which shows descending triangle shapes in colors representing inclusivity.

The festival will begin with a kickoff party and will be followed by multiple parades to celebrate specific communities.

Atlanta Pride was created in 1971 following the Stonewall Inn raid in 1969 and the protests that followed, according to the Atlanta Pride website.
