Pre-K lottery now open for Atlanta Public Schools | What to know

Here's how to apply!

ATLANTA — There's good news for parents in the metro as Atlanta Public Schools is opening up its Pre-K lottery applications for placement in their early education program.

Parents can submit their applications starting from February 1 at 9 a.m. until March 1 at 11:59 p.m.

The lottery drawing is scheduled for March 15. However, lottery results must undergo a verification process before being released. APS said all applicants would be informed of the results via email and on their parent dashboard within the enrollment system once verification is complete.

For those who miss the initial application period or are not selected in the lottery, APS will reopen the application on March 25. The remaining seats will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. If eligible, applicants will be contacted by phone when a seat becomes available.

To be eligible for the Pre-K program, children must turn four years old by September 1, 2024, and live within the APS attendance zone. All APS employees are eligible to apply. In the case of twins, triplets, etc., each child requires a separate application, but APS will link the applications to ensure placement at the same site.

Applicants are urged to have a valid email address and can access the online lottery application at www.enrollearlyatl.com from February 1 to March 1. The application process takes approximately 30 minutes, and the required documents, listed below, must be submitted for the application to be considered complete:
