ATLANTA — Atlanta has been named one of the country's top moving destinations by Penske Truck Rentals.
The moving company recently announced its 2023 Top Moving Destinations list, which ranks the top 10 cities consumers moved to based on one-way truck rentals in 2023, and Atlanta landed at number four on the list.
The City in the Trees rose one ranking, up from number five last year.
Penske also conducted a survey asking consumers to reflect on their decision to move and how they adapted to their new city.
The survey found that the biggest reasons people are relocating are proximity to family, the lower cost of living, and the desire for more space. Specifically in Georgia, 39% of people moved to the state for better job opportunities.
The results also found that more than 60% of respondents who moved to Georgia acclimated to their new city by exploring new restaurants and shops, discovering new parks and outdoor spaces, and participating in local events.
