Here's where Atlanta ranks among the worst US cities with mosquitoes | List

Pest Control Company Terminix made a list of the Top 50 worst cities for the pesky critters.

ATLANTA — Atlanta ranks among the worst cities in the U.S. that are buzzing with mosquitoes, according to a new list by Terminix

The pest control company used data from over 300 of its branches across the country to identify the cities where residents used the highest number of mosquito control services in 2023. After analyzing the data, Terminix made a list of the Top 50 worst cities for the pesky critters. 

Atlanta came in at #4 on the list. Meanwhile, Los Angeles, California, took the top spot, followed by New York City at #2 and Dallas-Ft. Worth, Texas, at #3.

Terminix also provided the following tips for homeowners to try to reduce mosquitoes: 

  • Remove sources of standing water
  • Clean the gutters
  • Change water sources weekly
  • Replace outdoor lighting
  • Trim overgrown vegetation
