POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. -- Police say an arrest has been made in a 2013 murder in Powder Springs.
According to Cobb County District Attorney Vic Reynolds, police arrested 27-year-old Joshua Maurice Gibson in the murder of 23-year-old Danielle Marshall.
Marshall was found dead in her home on Palmonino Drive on Jan. 14, 2013. Her daughter, who was also in the house, was not hurt.
Gibson, the child's father, told police that she had gone to the house and that Marshall wasn't answering the door, but he could hear the baby crying.
Investigators said new information and additional witnesses led to the arrest of Gibson.
Gibson is charged is murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during commission of a crime. He's being held without bond at the Cobb County Jial.
Marshall's death was the only homicide in 2013, according to Powder Springs Police Chief John Robinson.
