COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A portion of Austell Road in Marietta is shut down due to a nearby business fire, according to officials.
The road closure was shared on social media. Austell Road just south of Hurt Road is closed while firefighters work the scene of a fire at the Cookout restaurant, they said.
Cobb County Fire officials said they responded to what is believed to be a small electrical fire. The fire started in the roof area but was put out quickly. Fire officials said no injuries were reported.
For now, drivers are being told to avoid the area and use Floyd Road and the East-West Connector as alternate routes. Crews are expected to be able to open some lanes soon.
