CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. -- Two people are dead after a fiery Saturday morning crash near Acworth.
Investigators said a Ford Ranger crashed with a Honda Accord shortly after 6 a.m. near Wade Green Road and Oak Lane, just before SR 92. Officials from the Georgia State Patrol and Cherokee County Sheriff's Office were on scene to investigate the crash.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but authorities on scene told 11Alive that it appears the Ford Ranger being driven by a Woodstock man was traveling north on Wade Green Road when the driver lost control and struck the Honda head on. GSP said both cars rolled several times before coming to a stop and catching fire.

"It sounded kind of like an explosion sound, like two ka-booms," she told 11Alive's Neima Abdulahi. "I thought it was just a dump truck making the noise."
Don Johnson and his wife ran to the scene to see if they could help the victims, but soon realized there was nothing they could do.
"It was instantly apparent that it was going to be two fatalities," he said. "It's awful. Just awful."
Officials shut down Wade Green Road while investigating the crash and advised drivers they were not able to travel the road from Interstate 75. But as the scene began to clear, people who live in this Acworth community said the images will be hard to forget.
