UPSON COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities believe a body discovered in Upson County Thursday may be a man who was reported missing in Lamar County at the end of December.
According to the Upson County Sheriff's Office, a deputy located a body Jan. 3 just before 9 p.m.
They believe the deceased person is Roderick Crawford of Barnesville. He was reported missing from Lamar County on Dec. 29.
Deputies said two people, 20-year-old Cameron Jones and 18-year-old Kiera Williams, have been taken into custody. They are expected to face charges in the case.
Upson County authorities said the investigation revealed Crawford contacted Williams through an internet escort website and met him. He was later murdered and left behind an abandoned house on Grantling Street, according to deputies.
Authorities said Crawford left home Friday driving a white 2008 Dodge Nitro and hadn't been seen since.
