#CarsonStrong | Bremen High crowns quarterback hurt during football game homecoming king

Carson Kimball was left without feeling in his lower body after a hit in a previous game.

BREMEN, Ga. — Bremen High School has named its quarterback Carson Kimball this year's homecoming king as he continues to recuperate after being injured during a football game.

The school shared photos Friday on social media of the football player wearing a crown and a BHS homecoming sash from his hospital bed.

Bremen High School Principal Tim Huff said Kimball had to be rushed to Grady Hospital during the school's rival game against Bowdon last week. Students and staff have continuously shown support to the student athlete since the frightening injury happened.

Earlier in the week, some of his teammates traveled to Atlanta from Bremen to visit Kimball at the hospital.

"As a team we're just gonna be up here as much as we can, rallying behind him. He supports us through everything," Andrew Muldoon, one of the teammates, told 11Alive's Liza Lucas earlier in the week. "Anytime we're going through something, he's with us. He's always the first one out of the locker room, just leading us, so we wanna be there to support him through all of this."

And in the community, a local business, Downtown Southern Outfitters, was selling shirts as a fundraiser to help Kimball.

In Bremen High's Facebook post, dozens congratulated the homecoming king and showed more support.
