Briar Vista Elementary students relocated to Druid Hills High after downed tree takes out power in area

School district officials confirmed the relocation Wednesday morning.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Students at Briar Vista Elementary School are relocating to Druid Hills High School on Wednesday morning after a downed tree took out power in the area.

The tree took out power early in the morning at the intersection of Briarcliff Road and Briar Vista Terrace.

The school is about a quarter mile from that intersection.

Outage maps on Georgia Power's website indicated there were 129 customers affected around that area, with an estimated restoration time of 11 a.m.

Druid Hills High is about two miles from Briar Vista Elementary.
