DECATUR, Ga. — Update: The water main break was repaired on Thursday, officials said.

_______________________

Original story: Crews are working on repairs Wednesday night after a main broke in DeKalb County.

City officials said a 12-inch water main broke on South Candler Street in Decatur, not far from Kirk Road. DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management crews are working late in the night to make repairs.

This break comes after the City of Atlanta has been in crisis mode for the better part of a week after several major water main breaks, including water pipes that were nearly 100 years old, finally gave and burst across multiple key parts of the city.

Residents who are experiencing low to no water pressure are asked to contract DeKalb County Watershed at dekalbwaterops@dekalbcounty.ga.gov or at 770-270-6243.
