BROOKHAVEN, Ga. -- Police have jailed three suspects in connection with a shooting that sent two scrambling to escape - and one of the victims dead.

On Nov. 30, police responded to a Waffle House on Clairmont Road in Brookhaven where they found two shooting victims who had driven away from an area apartment complex following an apparent robbery.

One of those shooting victims, Carthel Lamont Johnson Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene.

Weeks later, operating off of warrants obtained on Dec. 6, the sheriff's office and the U.S. Marshal's Office arrested 24-year-old Stephen D. McAllister of College Park and 31-year-old Quintez M. Griffin of Atlanta. Both were charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

A third suspect, Pierre Gregory Singletary, was taken into custody on Dec. 6 after police issued an alert to the public trying to find him.

The trio were caught in Fulton County but now sit in DeKalb County's jail on their charges after being apprehended without incident.
