Burn ban in effect after brush fire in Fannin County, officials say

Fannin County Emergency Management Agency posted on Facebook that the fire at The Whispering Lake was contained to a ground fire.

About nine residential buildings were protected by firefighters in Fannin County after a blaze broke out near a subdivision on Monday night. 

Fannin County Emergency Management Agency posted on Facebook that the fire at The Whispering Lake was contained to a ground fire. 

Fire officials said the fire started as a bushfire. In total, crews worked seven hours through "high winds and rapidly changing conditions."

Fannin County Emergency Management also noted that a burn ban is still in effect.
