ATLANTA — A slice of Buckhead off Peachtree Street is without power Friday afternoon after wires came down on Huntington Road.
Atlanta Police said it had officers on scene to provide traffic control. A Georgia Power outage map indicates slightly more than 100 customers are without power as of 12:30 p.m. in the areas of Huntington Road, Woodcrest Avenue and some parts of Palisades Road and Northwood Ave.
There was no immediate word on what brought the lines down.
"Repair work required an outage. We are working to restore power as quickly as possible," a notice on the Georgia Power site stated.
The area highlighted on the outage map appears to be largely residential. It was unclear if any of the businesses on Peachtree near the outage were affected in any way.
