MORROW, Ga. — A Morrow Police officer is OK after a close call while responding to a traffic call, Wednesday night.
According to Morrow Police Cpt. James Callaway, the officer was outside his patrol car, helping another driver who had broken down near the Jonesboro Road exit off I-75 south.
Callaway said around 9:50 p.m., another vehicle lost control and hit the right rear bumper of the patrol car and flipped. Luckily, the officer was not hurt.
The driver of the flipped vehicle, however, had to be taken to Grady Hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is unclear.
The accident shut down all southbound lanes of the Interstate while crews worked to clear the accident.
