BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. -- A Cartersville man is accused of murdering a woman and her unborn child.

The victim, 36-year-old Yolanda Cruz, was discovered dead in her home at the Friendly Lane Mobile Home Park off Mac Johnson Road near Cassville. Her body was found just before 1 a.m. on June 18. Investigators said she was stabbed multiple times.

An investigation led Bartow County Sheriff's deputies to arrest 39-year-old Tiburcio Santana. He was charged with one count of murder. Last week, investigators added a charge of feticide after discovering Cruz was pregnant.

Santana is being held in the Bartow County Jail on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement charge.

A motive for the murder has not been released. The sheriff's office said Cruz and Santana were neighbors, and there were no prior reported incidents between them.
