ATLANTA — 11Alive is celebrating an extraordinary accomplishment of one of its own this weekend.
Meteorologist Chesley McNeil was honored by the southeast chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences with the distinguished Silver Circle Award.
Chesley was inducted into the prestigious group for his more than 25 years of broadcast excellence.
According to the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' web page, award honorees have made "significant contributions in the Southeast Region, extending beyond professional excellence and commitment to their craft."
Chesley has also taught meteorology and earth sciences courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels at several colleges and universities, currently at Kennesaw University.
He has been awarded the prestigious American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval, and he has received broadcasting Emmy Awards along with numerous professional awards and honors.
