ATLANTA — Graduating from high school, moving into your first home, and starting your first job are all considered milestone moments. But for patients and families fighting cancer, dreaming about these moments can be daunting. That's why Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is taking the time to highlight critical milestone moments for some of their patients and staff.
In recognition of Childhood Cancer and Sickle Cell Awareness Month, CHOA is showcasing a few patients from their Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center. In 2019, the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center diagnosed more than 475 new cancer patients and treated more than 2,000 children with sickle cell disease.
You can read through the brave patient and staff stories below to be reminded why we should all be grateful for milestone moments—big and small.
