Power restored to Clayton County Jail, sheriff's office says

The Clayton County Sheriff's Office said maintenance and Georgia Power were contacted to resolve the issues.

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — The Clayton County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday evening that the power to the jail and the entire Justice Complex has been restored.

This comes after the sheriff's office said in the afternoon that no phones, lights, internet or HVAC was working. Also, inmates were without water at the time because water is connected to electricity at the jail, law enforcement said.

Maintenance and Georgia Power were contacted to fix the outage. The sheriff's office also stated that no public business or visitors will be allowed until the issues are resolved.
