Cobb County driver walks away with minor injuries in major accident

The crash took out a power pole and ended with the car on its roof.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A driver in Cobb County is lucky to be alive after an accident that shut down an intersection on July 4.

The accident happened at Piedmont Road and Sprayberry Drive and sparking several small fires after the car involved apparently struck a power pole causing it to fall.

The car itself overturned and, based on a photo from the scene, went through a fence before coming to rest next to a home. The crash ended up knocking out power in the area and temporarily shutting down traffic on the roads.

Despite how bad the accident looked, police said the driver only suffered minor injuries.
